A Journey Through 100 Years of Conflict, Coexistence, and Shared Stories

Route curated by local heritage specialists Dr. Eilat Maoz & Attila Abdi

Experience Haifa like never before. This guided walk invites you into the city’s layered past — a place where Palestinian and Jewish communities have lived, struggled, collaborated, and shaped one another for more than a century.

As you move along the historic seamline between Arab and Jewish neighborhoods, you’ll uncover how Haifa’s streets, stairways, and architecture tell a powerful story of coexistence, tension, resilience, and hope.

What You’ll Explore

  • How everyday life in Haifa evolved from the late 1920s to today
  • Key moments of conflict and cooperation that shaped the city
  • The physical and symbolic “border” that runs between Wadi Nisnas and Hadar
  • Hidden stories behind iconic buildings, marketplaces, and streets

Route & Highlights

  • Starting Point: Remembrance Park (Gan HaZikaron), opposite Haifa City Hall
  • Path: Descend through Wadi Salib → climb the historic stairways → walk along the cultural and historical seamline between Wadi Nisnas and Hadar
  • Duration: ~3 hours

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a curious traveler, or someone seeking a deeper understanding of Haifa’s unique social fabric, this tour offers a rare lens into one of the region’s most fascinating cities.

Tour Guide: Attila Abdi

I am a proud citizen of Haifa — born and raised in this unique and diverse city. A graduate of the Hebrew University, where I studied International Relations and Political Science, I later spent 20 years working as a flight attendant with EL AL Airlines, a role that allowed me to connect with people and cultures around the world.
Today, I bring that same spirit of curiosity and connection to my work as a guide, sharing Haifa’s layered stories of coexistence, history, and identity.
