We are pleased to invite you to the opening of Past Through Here—a student-curated exhibition, taking place on Sunday, 1 February at 11:00 am at Maraya Art Centre.
Past Through Here explores the imprints of memory, movement, and transformation through modern and contemporary Arab art. Featuring paintings, sculptures, photographs, and installations from the collection of the Barjeel Art Foundation, Sharjah, the exhibition examines how memory is constructed and reshaped through lived experience.
Developed by students of the American University of Sharjah as the culmination of a semester-long Arts Practicum taught at the College of Architecture, Art and Design, and co-organised with Maraya Art Centre, the exhibition is conceived as an open-ended dialogue—inviting reflection on memory, time, and belonging.
Abed Abdi’s works Refugees, 1961 and Refugees, 1968 will be featured in the show. More information on the exhibition is attached.
We would be honored by your presence at the opening and hope you will join us in celebrating the work and curatorial vision of the participating students.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Kind Regards,Student Curatorial Team
