Created during the Iran–Israel war, as missiles struck Haifa, this painting captures the artist’s daily descent into the shelter—sometimes three to four times a day—climbing 30 stairs and the sloped street each time. The image portrays a mother shielding two children beneath her coat; only parts of their bodies are visible, symbolizing both physical protection and emotional concealment. The composition conveys fear, maternal strength, and the fragmented sense of safety in times of war.
