This mural was erected in 1969 by Gerhard Bondzin, professor of art and teacher of Abed Abdi at the Dresden Academy of Art. He selected Abed Abdi, along with some other students, to help him with the execution of this project. In his evaluation of the student Abed Abdi, Prof. Gerhard Bondzin wrote the following text:
“It should be emphasized that during his 4th year of study, Abed Abdi as a guest student in our Republic, immediately demonstrated his willingness to participate in the socialist collective working on the mural “The Path of the Red Flag” at the Kulturpalast in Dresden.
